Technical Requirements for Daily Chemical Plastic Bottles

I. Material Requirements:

For contact with skincare products (lotions, serums): PET and PP are preferred. PET offers high transparency and chemical resistance, and will not react with the oils and active ingredients in skincare products. PP is heat-resistant (can withstand temperatures above 100°C) and is suitable for products requiring high-temperature sterilization (such as facial mask bottles).

For contact with detergents (laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid): HDPE is an option. It is acid- and alkali-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and can withstand the surfactants in detergents, while resisting deformation and cracking.

Prohibited Materials: Avoid using PVC (which contains plasticizers that may migrate into the product) and PS (which has a high brittle temperature and is brittle at low temperatures). Especially for infant and toddler daily chemical products, compliance with food-grade material standards (such as GB 4806.7) is essential.

II. Structural Requirements:

1.Neck Design: Must comply with international general standards or customized requirements specified by the customer to ensure perfect compatibility and sealing with standard caps or dedicated pumps. The inner diameter of the neck, thread shape, and sealing surface design are of crucial importance.

2. Shoulder and Base Design:

The shoulder must be strong enough to withstand stacking pressure, with a smooth transition to avoid stress concentration. This design impacts both appearance and compressive strength.

Base: The design (flat, concave, or petal-shaped) must ensure upright stability. A concave bottom design effectively improves compressive and internal pressure resistance.

3. Handle/Grip Design: If included, it must be ergonomically designed, comfortable to hold, and strong enough to resist breakage.

4. Lotion Pump/Mist Sprayer Installation: If a plastic lotion pump or mist sprayer is required, the bottle neck or shoulder must have a corresponding snap-on, threaded, or locking mechanism to ensure secure installation, a reliable seal, and smooth operation.

III. Performance Requirements:

Impact Resistance: The bottle must show no cracks or leaks after a drop from a height of 1.2 meters (simulating a drop during transportation). PET bottles, in particular, must pass a "drop test."

Temperature Resistance: The bottle must not soften or deform in high-temperature environments (such as summer warehouses) (temperature tolerance ≥ 60°C) or crack in low-temperature environments (such as winter in northern China) (temperature tolerance ≤ -10°C), preventing product deterioration due to temperature fluctuations.

Sealing: The sealing gasket between the bottle cap and the bottle neck must fit tightly and remain leak-free for 24 hours after vacuuming to prevent oxidation and moisture from contact with air (especially for perishable products such as creams and essential oils).

IV. Appearance Requirements:

1. Transparency/Whiteness: For transparent bottles (e.g., PET), high transparency and no visible haze are required; for white bottles (PE/PE HD), uniform whiteness is required.

2. Color: Color must conform to the standard color palette or customer-signed sample, and batch-to-batch color variation must be within the acceptable range (e.g., ΔE < 1.0).

3. Surface Finish: The surface should be smooth and even, free of visible scratches, abrasions, pitting, flow marks, or weld lines (or weld lines should be strong enough and have an acceptable appearance).

4. Impurities and Black Spots: The size and number of visible impurities and black spots on the inside and outside of the bottle must be strictly controlled.

5. Parting Line: The parting line should be flat and smooth, free of burrs and flash. The height and appearance should meet requirements and not affect function or appearance.

6. Bottle Finish Quality: The bottle finish should be flat, free of nicks, burrs, or flash, and the threads should be clear, intact, and undamaged to ensure a tight seal.

7. Deformation: No noticeable deformations such as crooked necks, crooked bottoms, dents, or bulging that would affect appearance and functionality.

V. Environmental Requirements:

Recyclability: Requirement: An increasing number of brands and regulations require the use of single-material or easily separable and recyclable materials, in line with environmental trends (e.g., "Design for Recyclability").

Compliance: Export products must comply with EU REACH regulations and US FDA standards, while domestic products must comply with national standards such as GB/T 18455 to ensure environmental performance.
